BP Skarv - Preparation for Operations

The production start from the Skarv field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf is scheduled to the second quarter 2012. Apply Sørco was awarded two Contracts to prepare for operations of the Skarv FPSO.

The scope of work included preparation of Maintenance Plan and Programs including Criticality Analyses and Spare Parts Evaluation, Operational Documentation, Training Material and provision of Course Instructors.

Maintenance Plan and Programs:
Develop a complete tag hierarchy based on vendor proposals and project database. Perform maintenance and criticality analysis and decide generic maintenance. Develop maintenance concepts and programs based on the analysis. Populate the maintenance program into WorkMate. Determine the requirement for spare parts and the location of these.

Operational Documentation – Descriptions and Procedures

• Skarv Opartions Handbook contains information of all systems on the installation providing the users with an overall understanding of the system design, its function and basic operation.
• The Skarv Operating Procedures provide detailed operating instructions and will be used for both control room and field operators in operation of the plant. Technical procedures delivered include: Start-up Procedures (purpose, presumptions & precautions, etc.), Normal Operation (supervision, data acquisition, inspection filter change, etc.),  Planned shutdown ( system empty, depressurized, ready for maintenance), Start-up and Shutdown of Plant (incl. Black start), Nodal structure.

Training Material:

• Preparation of System Courses -  Introduction System Course for all employees involved in Skarv offshore operations, and the Operational System Course provides more detailed training with regard to system design, function, control and operation. 
• Provision of System Course Instructors - classroom training.
• Competence Management – administation of the LMS (Learning Management System) performing gap analyses, creating competence profiles and training plans.
