Sørco was awarded two substantial contracts by Norske Shell for the Ormen Lange field, covering preparation of documentation for management and operation, and training.

Ormen Lange is ranked as Norway’s second-largest gas discovery, situated in the Norwegian Sea 120 kilometres north-west of Kristiansund. Its development embraces an onshore terminal, subsea wells and pipelines to shore as well as an export pipeline to Easington in the UK.



Sørco scope of work involves preparing and establishing all operations documentation for Ormen Lange, ranging from governing procedures for management, health, safety and the environment (HSE) and work processes to detailed technical work instructions for field and control room operations.

The Sørco training program embraces both planning and execution of operational activities as well as preparation of system courses and an on-the-job training programme.
